Background and Experience
Mark Sherfey, M.D. graduated from the University of Kentucky in l980, with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in pre-med and an emphasis in chemistry. He then obtained his undergraduate medical education from the University of Kentucky’s School of Medicine and Ross University’s School of Medicine. Doctor Sherfey completed several externships, two of which were at Boston University and Boston City Hospital in l985. Mark Sherfey, M.D. also did an internship and residency in Internal Medicine and additional primary care training at East Tennessee State University, which he completed in l989. Over the years, Doctor Sherfey’s practice has included hospitalized patients, emergency room medicine, and treating patients in an office setting. Doctor Mark Sherfey has also assisted families with home birth deliveries and was an intern at Case De Nacimiento Birth Center. Since the beginning of Doctor Sherfey’s studies, he has been interested in nutritional medicine, and in l982, his education included an externship with Lester Rose, M.D., in a nutritional oriented practice in San Jose, California. Subsequently, Doctor Sherfey has worked with other nutrition oriented practitioners and consulted with leading physicians in treating the ‘difficult-to-help’ patient.
